Chevy Avalanche 1/6
July 2004: Begin to convert a New Bright into a 'real' RC truck..
This truck, made from New Bright, is an RC vehicle with a poor chassis and
a great body. Performance are almost null, it is only 2WD, no power, low speed.
The body is very detailed, has open doors, hood, interiors and can accept
figures like Big Jim or similar.
So my idea (and others who already did it too) was to build a chassis to give
better performances to that body.
I wanted to buil a tuber chassis, so I used brass that is easy
to solder at home.
This is my first attemp to build a tuber chassis and I'm not so experienced.
Plan is tu use an E-Maxx tranny up front under the hood, a central gearbox
to
split power to both axales that will come from a Tamiya TXT-1.
Making
the link setup was not so difficult. I made the links on my lathe
and used Kyosho 6.8mm ball-ends.
The twist is still so much for the purpose of the truck.
Some pics just to test how room I'll need to put the motors.
Some pics with the body on just to have an idea of the final look.
