Molto bene!

This is really one of the most comprehensive sites I've seen in this
area. And I like that you keep the pictures in high resolution and
large size.

Keep up the good work!

I am looking for pictures/info on old 1:8 track cars. If anyone can
help me - please e-mail me!

Love the sight it brings back so many memories of my sand scorcher it
was s/h when i got it but with a bit of paper round money it was like
new and many a happy summers evening was spent chasing cars! i started
collecting myself i suppose but now space is at a premium i will
probably put them on ebay. i have a (sadly non original front
suspension) modified rough rider with a very good original body a mint
sand rover body on a poor chassis some can am lola bits but i went away
from tamiya on to stock car racing at alocal club so the buggy stuff
got put in the cupboard, and now i have moved out the boxes have
surfaced again.
Keep on collecting regards Mark Palmer

Hi!!
Really loved your site!I'v owned a few Tamiya cars, the first being a
legendery Hotshot!Back then I really wanted a Supershot but couldn't
afford it so I went for a Hotshot! It was really crazy back then(Early
eighties-to mid eighties)You entered every hobby shop(Like HobbyPlace-
Melbourne, still at Lonsdale st,twenty years after-still owned my Ron)
and the bench was lined up with Superchamp's,Sandscorchers,Ford
F150's,Roughriders(Greatest classic),then at the height of
popularity, cars such as the Frog,Hornet and Hotshot. There were also
promotional video's,I still remember the Hotshot tune!
I'v also owned a Boomerang,Bushdevil(Frog Chassis),Mantaray as well as
a Hornet!
Great site!!!,Bill(From Melbourne,Australia!)

your site is awesome, and this is getting really long, cya!

Hi,

Great website and pictures!

I was born in 1970 and my first Tamiya RC was the Fast Attack Vehicle
in 1984.

Started last year (2001) collecting older Tamiya R/C cars mostly MIB.

My dream R/C that I am hoping to get is Tamiya Sand Scorcher MIB.

Hi Roby and Friends:
Yes, I remember my very first Tamiya R/C the "Holiday Buggy" It a
wonderful little vehicle to drive around and almost indestructable.
I've recently returned to hobby. About 10 years ago I bought a Nissan
Kingcab NIB and it sat. I didn't drive it much until this year. I took
it out for a spin just for old time sake and have been hooked ever
since. Since then I bought a Blitzer Beetle and found an old Mitsubishe
Pajero on ebay and I am currently restoring that. I really enjoy
restoring the old vehicles to the former glory. However, I'd much
rather have the new Novaks in cars now a days.
Keep up the good work Roby and by the way. Thanks again for selling me
what seemed to be quite the impossible to find Pajero Manual. It has
been a terrific help.
John

Hello from England!!
I have only just found Roby's database, and now it seems it may be
closing. This is a great shame. I am looking for information and parts
for my Audi Quattro Rally, which I have owned since 1984. I need a new
body parts set and a new chassis tub if anybody knows of these. Any
catalogue listings and manuals for the Audi would also be very much of
interest.Best regards, Martin.

Hi Roby -

Just want to say how much I enjoy reading your web page - I will be
receiving an Avante 2001 soon and it is coming without instructions -
so when I looked up Avante on the Internet I came across your website
with a scanned Avante 2001 manual!

This really makes my day and is so very helpful for when I rebuild it -
I plan on replacing some of the screws with modern ones but I don't
really plan on running it...

I also plan on printing off some of the other manuals - I just love how
Tamiya presents their cars!

Again - thanks for making my day...

regards from CANADA

Hi everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I`v Been looking at Roby`s site for age`s now and it`s a pleasure to
see so many wonderful cars -&- Tamiya fans. It brings back fantastic
memories to me.
I`v been into them since 1980 and still can`t get enough!
I used to own many of the famous ones back in th 80`s but they all had

I`v managed to get my hands on some cracking cars, all like new.
Trouble is I can`t dam use em!
At the moment my list is...
Ford F150 ranger (to be restored)
Subaru Brat (waiting painting)Hotshot,Fox,Boomerang,Falcon,Porsche
959,Avante,Manta Ray,Madcap.
Also got a Toyota 4x4 Hilux on the way. This car has been restored by
another guy, but I fell in love with it coz he has made an amazing job
of it!

moment I have a Optima Mid like new -&- a runner that is VERY FAST!

Thank you so much for making those old video clips available Roby. I
just downloaded and watched the Hotshot video in anticipation of the
brand new Hotshot I will be assembling this winter.

Myself: I got into the hobby in the mid 1980s when I built a Frog.
These old Tamiya cars are better than any others new or old that I am
aware of. Thank you again for making all this information available.

Great site. I'm now on my third Tamiya (Dirt Thrasher). Why oh why do
a lot a model shops shops slag Tamiya off?

The other kits are pants for spares etc.

A campaign should be started to raise Tamiyas standing as they are the
original and best.

Cool cars you have Roby, its god to see the old cars in their prime and
glory

Hi Roby, Your site was very good. I have a Grasshopper that has been

to running on carpet or pavement. Thank You for a good site

Hi Roby..
I've looked at your site before I even got the internet on...
very good...lots of info'....
I have a original hilux 4x4..bought in 1985...its had a LOT of
use..worn out a gearbox,a set of tyres, and the hubs are just about to
give up..a real high milage unit !

It is mainly used for towing..I built a Hayman Reese heavy duty towbar
for it. I have a car trailer (scatch built),a boat on a trailer (again
scratch built)..and now a 17'6" Roadstar caravan 1/10th scale (you
guesed it totally scratch built)
The Hilux is such a good model...I wouldn't ever get rid of it.
My eldest daughter loves to drive it with the Roadstar hooked up..so
much so I built a model for her..UNDER her Barbie camper..now she has
the worlds only R/C Barbie camper..now the younger daughter wants one
too....next birthday...
great site....talk to you soon..

Glad to see a well put together site like this one. I enjoy the pics
and found myself surfing around for hours. I've been into R/C for about
15 years now and have a decent collection of my own. I'm currently in
the process of trying to get as many people I work with into the hobby.
So far it's been slow, but have gotten a few and looks as though more
may follow suit. Just as long as I stay ahead of the game and not let
any of them out due me, it'll be all good. If anyone wants to trade any
tips,tricks,ideas,plans,etc.. Drop me a line at Coolmicski@yahoo.com
Till then, take it easy.

Hello,
Nice site, you've got a lot of good info and pics on here. I have only
been in RC in a big way for about 18 months but I try to get anything
different if I can afford it. While I am a racer of new stuff mainly, I
like the old Tamiya cars and have a couple myself, a Bush Devil and a
Mercedes C111 pan car. While they may not be that old I like them,
especially the Merc and would like to get a few more, I really want a
Delta Integrale but can't afford one at the mo, one of the problems of
being a student!.

Dear Robby;

My name is Juan Loayza. Sometime ago I downloaded your Sand
Scorcher manual. I needed some images and could find your old
website.

Finally I bumped onto a website that directed me to your new
server. Well, I just wanted to thank you for having such
valuable information available. I had the Sand Scorcher since
I was 12 and I have recently rebuild it. It is the only Tamiya
I've got so I displayed it on a shelf and placed a copy of the
manual next to it.

I am very happy to have found your site and the vast
information you've got to offer.

I guess, I just wanted to drop a line and thank you for keeping
the old ones alive!

Sincerely,

Juan
